Only recently, electronic shoegaze virtuoso Ulrich Schnauss released his 12th album (No Further Ahead Than Today) but he’s already back with more, this time in collaboration with Danish musician Jonas Munk. Their album Passage was released last Friday, right when most of the world could have used exactly this kind of meditative escape. With the addition of Munk’s guitar work to Schnauss’ hallmark synths, this ethereal album channels some serious Slowdive vibes, and fans of shoegaze or ambient music will find it to be a rewarding listen. While most of Schnauss’ music could be described as “chill,” this album is certainly more laid back than his previous release (with the exception of the New Order-esque track “Spellbreaker”). Check out the video for “Amaris” below, and get your copy of the album on bandcamp.
